Bird Perch

Everyday is so full of detail. The little things in life that seem to occupy the majority of my days. The bigger picture each day colored in with the minutia of life. Fine details increasingly filling the space between my free time or lack of it.

In photography, I find comfort many times in eliminating the details. Purging the elements that create a deeper and more textured photograph. Distilling down the picture to a simple outline void of grain and nuance. All the little components reduced to simply contour. A simple silhouette.

It feels good, even therapeutic looking for these type of pictures on a day filled with endless details. Searching for something – nothing more than an outline. Nothing more than a graphic. Just the bigger picture and nothing more.
