Prayer Flag Sunset

Along ridge lines around the countryside of Bhutan, flags are often seen clustered together and filled with the wind that blowns relentlessly across this beautiful landscape.

Prayer flags made of transparent fabric and dyed a multitude for colors are blessed by the local monks that reside in the monasteries nearby. They are raised on poles to allow the blowing wind to spread the blessings across the countryside much like a dried dandelion might spread its seeds during a late summer afternoon.

I have Asia on my mind today as I prepare to depart this weekend for an extended trip there. So much to see and feel here. Like the winds that blow in Bhutan, I never tire of this fascinating continent and all the blessings it has to offer me.
