Isolation

An early morning flight brings me to an empty terminal today. Gone are the long lines and hectic TSA screenings. No crying babies or waiting for last-minute upgrades to clear. What would normally be a very public activity has turned into a form of isolation unlike I have seen since 911.

I knew I could find a picture here today. Like visiting a familiar location in a different season or shooting an old friend who suddenly starts wearing glasses. The subject is familiar, but the outcome is something different entirely. Driven by color and shapes it was relaxing to wander the empty spaces normally filled with people moving with purpose and intention.

A lone traveler resting in quiet captured the moment and feeling today. It presents a graphic relief to the vacant concourse telling a story of isolation and the large spaces that can create it.

Visiting a familiar place and exploring it in a whole new light is truly one of my secret pleasures in life.
