Morning Calm

Diffusion for me usually happens between the light source and the subject. In the rare occasion it comes between the camera and the subject, I’m much less certain what the final results could be.

Like playing chess, one element has a reciprocal effect on the other. Here, both the background and foreground are interchanging in the role of which will be the focus. Which will catch the eye first? Where will the eye go after that? Does the subject become the foreground or does the background becoming the subject as the eye looks further into the image?

Diffusion in-front of the lens creates all sorts of questions I’m not sure the answer to.
