Summer’s Here

With the longer evening light, there is plenty of time to wander after dinner and see what comes into focus. The mesh screen of Eliot’s image had me thinking about window screens and metal mesh to shoot through. The late and low sunlight was perfect for catching a random window filling with light I imagined.

I have often played around with shooting through a material as a way to diffuse the subject. An element of foreground obstructing the subject often adds depth and tension to the image.

It was not until my turn towards home that I found a slightly different take on what was filling my head as the setting sun found its subject pressing against the plastic fencing along the water’s edge. The warm evening air was a perfect pairing
to the visual joy of finally finding what I was searching for.
