While that would have been nice to have it was not the reason we had come to this place.<br><br>Prayer flags are a common sight in central Asia. Acquired from a monastery after being blessed by the local monks they are unrolled high on a mountain, where the wind can spread the blessings across the countryside like leaves blowing from a tree on a blustery fall afternoon.<br><br>I had a blessing to spread this day for a dear friend who was in the final stages of life. A battle of will against nature, his chances of recovery fading like light behind this mountain ridge. Any chance to help ease his suffering seem worth the effort as we carefully unrolled and hung our flags.<br>As we departed a final glance back caught my eye and this scene.
