It\u2019s a powerful magnet, pulling me in despite the handful of No Trespassing signs scattered around the property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inside, the diffused glass\u2014known as wired glass in some places and Georgian glass in others\u2014fills an entire wall of the warehouse. Popular between the 1920s and 1960s, it was designed to soften light and reinforced with wire mesh for strength. It immediately reminds me of buildings from my youth\u2014schools, factories, and the occasional jail. Its presence here speaking to a time long since past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inspiration comes easily in the imperfections left behind by years of rock throwers and rifle-toting adolescents. The embedded wire mesh, still holding it all together, has done exactly what it was meant to do\u2014endure. My only task was to find the point of view that could best capture this large wall of textured glass in a single frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For me, the imperfections surrounding this place underscore a certain dignity in decay\u2014a quiet reminder that beauty can survive, even in disrepair.<\/p>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The open door of an old warehouse is more than an invitation.
