Hot Steel

It was hot this morning even with an early start to catch the sunrise. By mid morning it was time to beat feet and find some relief, but not before swinging near the train tracks that run North and South of here.

Shooting around rail lines is always interesting. The contrast between the shiny smooth rail and the course timbers and gravel that support it. The track cutting a creative space around it that allows for the photographer to use distance and perspective to develop interest. Tension created between the rail structure cutting through the landscape and just about anything that decides to venture across it.

This is where I found myself this warm summer morning. Kneeling down on the gravel bed. Crouched down feeling the warmth of the rail as it heats in the morning sun. Using all the elements present here to find a picture. All the while thinking of a cooler afternoon in the shade. My early morning efforts a faint memory.
