Childs Play

In Brian Eno’s new book, he writes, “Children learn through play, and adults play through art.” I loved that thought. In this image, those two worlds meet for me…the curiosity of childhood and the creative play of art, woven together in a single frame.

As I watched the children that day, I was doing much the same. Playing with light, timing, and composition. A reminder of how play, as Eno said, and creation share the same heartbeat.

Though the photograph was taken long ago, returning today to breath new life into it in post—brings me back to that moment. In revisiting it, I find myself at play once more: this time with memory, and emotion. This act of rediscovery reminds me what art and play have always meant to me.
