Standing Dead
Along my walk, in a wide meadow, there is a tall, standing dead tree that anchors the landscape. Bleached white from years of exposure, it stands as a monument to longevity. Visible from a great distance, it reminds me how far I have gone each day and that even in age, there is power and worth.
