Fish Zoo

Searching for sea life along the shoreline in Washington State would seem like an easy assignment, yet with temperatures hovering near freezing the option to actually get into the water here is only for the young.

A much better place to find life aquatic when the local water temperatures are hyperthermic is a local aquarium.

Captive fish are not my cup of tea. Actually, any animals held for viewing only is a little disturbing, but I pressed on and found some interesting points of view nonetheless.

Here a top-lit tank of schooling fish caught my eye and as it offered the feeling you get while driving when the sun penetrates from above and creates that wonderful top-down light that makes everything below snap into focus.

Not as much fun as actually being in the sea, but an acceptable option considering the conditions outside today.
