Sleeping Guard

With Thanksgiving today and a house full of guests arriving soon a trip to the photo well was necessary. The choice of this sleeping ticket taker in Myanmar from a few years ago mimics the shadows and tiles while foreshadowing the potential deep recline that most certainly follows a Thanksgiving feast.

My subject was found near the entrance of one of the largest reclining buddhas in Mandalay. A gold-covered statue of enormous size it nearly fills a single wing of this multi-storied building. My subject never woke during the two hours spent here and with my untorn ticket still in hand, I left with another handful of images from this wonderful country.
