In Flight

I’m at my best in the morning. It’s the time of day when I’m the most agreeable. I have a refreshed perspective after the previous day’s trials. The morning hours for me hold all the potential without the inevitable disappointments the day will potentially provide.

A pre-breakfast walk in downtown Olympia is what I need today as I wrap up my final days here in the PNW. The shortened days and the merciless rain has pushed me past the breaking point and southern latitudes are calling.

This town is full of artist renderings from bronze sculpture to wall art which is where I find myself spending a few moments this morning. These shapes speak to what I’m looking for today and I even returned here later in the afternoon hoping the late sun might give me something different. In the end, however, my first attempt is strongest once again affirming the morning hours are my best.
