Window to Frustration

How do you break away from what you’re accustomed to shooting? It’s often challenging to truly see your work, to understand what it is or isn’t. I appreciate the influence of other photographers around me, those I respect. I feel capable of seeing their work, appreciating it, and enjoying it. Yet, my own often seems flat and repetitive, offering a different angle or subject, but ultimately resembling the last one I took. Of course, there are moments when one of my pictures truly excites me. But is that all there is?

Perhaps that’s just how it is.

Maybe what we’re really experiencing is a lot of mediocrity punctuated by the occasional moment of revelation.
