Rainy Day Alley

Last week’s typhoon here in Hue filled the streets creating widespread destruction. With the second system approaching the coast, the day quickly turned dark and my options for any chance of sunlight went well before noon.

The narrow alleyways in this ancient city lead from busy thoroughfares winding deep amongst the tall buildings sometimes barely wide enough for a motor scooter to pass. Around every corner an open door with a complete living space the size of a small room. Cooking, sleeping, and many times doing business just off the alleyway.

As the rain continues the doors close and my exploration comes to an end. Pure and simple discovery is the only thing driving me today with my camera.
