Green Camp Rocks…. All year round in addition to the Green School the facility is also open to week long and drop in activities called Green Camp. It is a freestanding program that provides green education and activities to those not able to attend the school on a yearly basis or just here on vacation in Bali short term. Activities include educational and hands on work in rice fields, bamboo construction, batik classes, cultural education and sustainability education on a host of topics. Naturally there are lots of chances to just play and explore. It really is the ultimate green camp going.
I got the chance to attend Friday of last week and it was the best camp a kid could ever want. Fun activities and games, exploration in a jungle environment, cool classes and the chance to meet other kids from around the world. Did I just say other kids. I kind of felt like one after a day hanging out.
They are also developing programing for university groups, corporate team building and retreats and education program visits to better learn about sustainability issues and how to integration that into educational programs back home. Just another fun and cool thing to do in Bali… all in the name of Green…..
