Space Between

“Space Between”

Scattered leaves, randomly strewn chairs, and the early morning light created lots of possibilities as I approached the empty campus courtyard.

I knew there was a pictures here. Somewhere in the chaos of shadows and metal.

The pattern of light as it passed through the tables and chairs was the first place I chose to focus, but decided that the shape of the chairs and the patterns that fell below was more appealing.

Sometimes it just takes time. Looking and adjusting. Adding and subtracting. Elements pushing into the frame. Eliminating just enough to find a resting place in the composition.

The mirrored shapes of the two armrests with the space between is where I finally end up that morning.
