Wheelhouse

My final day here in the Northwest and a laundry list of chores takes me down to the docks early this morning. Vintage wooden cruisers in bristol condition are a regional calling card in these parts and that holds true near my boat here in the Salish Sea as well.

These classic beauties are a labor of love for the owners. With a constant list of maintenance and upkeep just to keep the water out and systems running it’s rare to pass by and not see someone working on board.

This morning early the docks are empty and the chance to board this beauty is off the table with not a workman in sight. Consequently, Iā€™m limited to making pictures from the dock, but I found several points of view that did the craftsmanship and original design elements justice in my opinion.

With a return visit and an invite to come aboard already swirling in my head, I get what I can today and dream of another chance sometime soon.

Vintage designs crafted in wood floating peacefully on calm waters. Never get tired of seeing that.
